Mini has once again left the fans in awe by unveiling the Aceman concept. This Electric crossover is predicted to arrive by the end of 2024. Once launched, this Compact EV will be placed between the Mini hatchback and the Countryman SUV. Mini has developed The Aceman concept by collaborating with BMW and Great wall. It is based on the all-new Spotlight architecture representing the next generation of electric Mini hatchback.  Under a 50/50 joint venture in 2019, two companies joined hands to develop Mini EVs in China. However Mini claims the Aceman as a fresh concept but very much similar to the car that will go on sale in 2024.

This new concept carries on many design features of Mini. Sharing the same DNA, the Aceman has front and rear overhangs. But giving a modern touch is the muscular body featuring prominent black cladding on the wheel arches and doors. Other design details include flush door handles instead of the signature chrome handles of Mini. Another unique trait of the Aceman is the triangular headlamps and the LED outline of the hexagonal grille. According to the company, the shoulder line, the tailgate spoiler, and the design of glasshouse are designed to support the aerodynamics. The glazed roof of this concept misses out on strengthening bars that resemble the Union Jack flag. The Union Jack theme can also be seen on wheel-arch moldings and rear light clusters.

The interior of the Mini Aceman concept is equipped with a circular OLED touchscreen with a toggle bar below, and as per the company, it has five controls, inspired by the 1959 original. One of the toggles acts as the transmission shifter and the other switches between the drive modes. Based on the bespoke EV platform, this concept is much more spacious than the Clubman. It also has reduced dashboard volume and steering wheel bulk which gives the cabin a minimalistic look. Talking about the other details, the dashboard has knitted textiles with bright lettering.

The company has not yet revealed the range and battery size of Aceman. However, the next-generation Mini EV hatchback is predicted to have a 183 hp Cooper variant and an approximately 40 kWh battery, while Cooper S will have 224 hp with a 50 kWh pack. The range of this car will be 402km. The production-spec version of Aceman is said to have the same battery and power.
